Gilligan's turtle is named Herman. The "S" turtle is for the Skipper, and the "H" turtle is for Mr. Howell. Skipper is always trying to beat Thurston's turtle and in desperation, bets Gilligan's services as a butler. Skipper loses of course, and Gilligan becomes the Howell's butler and does everything wrong such as burn Thurston's pants. Mr. Howell finally gives Gilligan back to the Skipper before Gilligan does any serious damage.
