Ahoy Maties! QUOTE OF THE MONTH: Thurston: Oh Gilligan. Gilligan: Oh hi Mr. and Mrs. Howell. Lovey: Is there something wrong Gilligan? Thurston: Yes yes my boy. You seem like you're in another world. Gilligan: Mr. Howell don't say that, I want to stay here in this world. Thurston: Permission granted. HAH! Lovey: Thurston you're so democratic. Thurston: Lovey, Lovey. Watch your language. Welcome to the November edition of the Gilligan's Island Fan Club. Did everybody have an enjoyable Halloween? We sure did! The Professor put his brains together and made the scariest Haunted Cave we have ever seen! He found this real spooky cave and made life-sized monsters out of, you guessed it, bamboo and coconuts! With the help of some wild berries, he managed to squish them scientifically to look like a bloody mess! Mrs. Howell wouldn't even go in! Ginger screamed through the whole cave, the Skipper played it off like a tough guy, but I knew he was just as scared as Mrs. Howell was. Mr. Howell wasn't allowed to go in because he had to stay with his wife (he was happy to do it) and Mary Ann and myself held hands through the entire thing! I think I jumped up in her arms a couple of times. After about 5 minutes she said she couldn't carry me any longer. Wonder what we'll do next year? Not a lot happening in the Gilligan world. No movie, no sightings, no gossip, nuttin'. Most of this newsletter is from the fans. You can however get ready for Christmas and get that special somebody a Gilligan shirt. If you so desire, go here to check them out: http://www.gilligansisle.com/shirt.html http://www.columbiaknit.com/rugbymens.htm Columbiahouse is ignoring us big time and we won't take it anymore! The only way we will be able to get a full release of all episodes on DVD is to pester the heck out of them. I don't think that they realize that Gilligan's Island has NEVER been off the air...NEVER. It is the oldest running sitcom in the history of television. Please bombard Columbiahouse Video at: video@columbiahouse.com. We now have the current month tv schedule on our site thanks to tv-now.com. You will be just one click away from finding out when Gilligan's Island is playing on tv. Evil ghosts were everywhere They tried to take some soles... From Julianna, and Gabriel Byrne, Isiah Washington, Ron Eldard, too, Some sexy guy, And the rest... Are trapped on this haunted ghost ship! ________________________________________________________________________________________________ FROM OUR MEMBERS Hi, I'm just responding to your Oct. newsletter about a place in Sarasota Fla. named "Gilligans". I was in Sarasota this month, and the place I think you are talking about is on Siesta Key. It sits in the "downtown" of Siesta Key which is called the village. It's a bar, grill-type place with outdoor seating. This is the only place I know in the Sarasota area that is called "Gilligans." Hope this helps!!! Smooth sailing. Ann Morris For all you Tina Louise fans out there, there is a new independent feature film that she starred in with Vincent Pastore of Sopranos. The name of the film is "Growing Down In Brooklyn". It is a gritty, dark original New York story of murder and the mob. Robert There was a restaurant in Fairhaven/New Bedford Mass, called 'Gilligans on the Island. Did you forget to mention this one? -Tim Bowen In Disney's new show 'Kim Possible', on one episode there is an evil golfer named Killigan and when Kim and Ron are going to the island Ron looks down and says 'There it is. Killigan's Island.' And of course this was probably in an earlier newsletter before I became a member but in an episode of VeggieTales they do a sort of Gilligan's Island thing with Larry wearing a Gilligan's hat, Bob wearing the Skipper's hat, Dr. Archibald as the Millionaire and his wife as.... well, Lovey and this other veggie as the Professor. Erin The one with the Ghost who calls on his walkie-talkie "W9" !! "W9" !!!, when he sees the "ghosts" of the castaways, he's gets petrified, throws his talkie behind his back and runs into the lagoon with his ghost sheet on. Quest 1) Did he swim to Hawaii? 2) Why didn't the professor use the discarded walkie talkie to call whomever was on the other end and plea for rescue? -Best TB Movie Quote Re GI: Movie: The Running Man (Arnold Swarzenegger) Character Quoter: Damon Killian (Compare of a futuristic Sadistic Game Show called "The Running Man"; Actor name: ??) Quote: (talking to government official on telephone): "If we don't get Richards (Swarzenegger) on the show, be prepared to show re-runs of Gillian's Isle....You know; Gillian's Isle..The Skipper, The Professor" (and he starts to hum the theme song). I hope other fans enjoy this connection. Keep Up the good work. Yours in shipwrecked spirit Ken Donnelly Well, I have to go clean up this cave mess. Until next time...
