Ahoy There Maties! Welcome to the May edition of the Gilligan's Island Fan Club. The club now has over 1,300 members and still growing.... worldwide! **HELP WANTED** There have been a lot of things I've been meaning to do on the page, I just figured that I would get around to them sooner or later. Well it's becoming later and later, and I'm not getting anywhere. The Skipper and the Professor are having me do all sorts of things on this island, and I barely have the time to answer my e-mails. If any of you can help out, it would be much appreciated. When we get rescued, I'll have Mary Ann personally bake you one of her famous "Coconut Cream Pies!" This is what I need: 1) Midi songs and themes. If any of you have a midi keyboard and would like to record some of the themes that aren't on the page yet, please send them. 2) .Wav files from the show. Any short sequences will do. 3) If there are any gamers out there, we could use some more wordsearches, puzzles, or anything along those lines. 4) Have you heard something that isn't on our page yet? Without the help of our fellow fan club members, we would have never seen the Titanic comic, the Gilligan's Island Font and the Movie poster just to mention a few. Any help at all would be appreciated. And now, off to the newsletter. SIGHTINGS Russell Johnson (Professor) will be doing a book signing May 23-24 at the Coliseum in St. Petersburg, Florida (535 4th Ave). He will also be at Disney World on the 25th. If you're close to Florida, don't miss this! Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) will be in Hawaii THIS SATURDAY, May 9th. Problem is that we don't know where in Hawaii she'll be. Keep your eyes and ears open and check your local newspapers and radio stations. She'll also be in Portland, Oregon. Again, whereabouts unknown at this time. (I can't keep up with Mary Ann) A Company called Command Performance is offering a limited edition lithograph (1,000) of the four remaining castaways signed by all four. Framed and matted for $250. Unable to contact Command Performance (Boy, I'm full of a bunch of 'I don't knows' in this newsletter) :-D In "Girls Life" magazine there is a picture of Ginger (caricature). They are making fun of the "Spice Girls" and Ginger is Ginger Spice. It's on the last page of the magazine. Yesterday I heard Russell Johnson as "The Professor on Gilligan's Island" on a Seattle area AM radio station's (KIRO 710) advertisement for Alaska Airlines. It is the latest in a series of very successful commercials with the actual mother of the president of Alaska Airlines (playing herself). Even the Professor can't convince this woman that Alaska's prices really are as low as the cheap competitors' (she questions his judgement because in 33 years he couldn't get them off the island). Bob Denver had a garage sell April 11th in West Virginia and was selling some of his collectibles from the show at a charity auction. He was selling the items in a local WallMart in West Virginia from what we understand. Items for sale were shirts, hats, and a raft. (Wish I was there) The Titanic comic is still up. You can still catch a glance at it here: http://www.san.rr.com/gilligan/images/titanic.gif Columbia House says that by the end of May, the next 10 tapes will be released. (I've heard that before) You can still order your Dart Flip Cards at: http://www.lookup.com/homepages/58181/dart.html From what I'm told, they have already sold about 80 percent of the cards. If you would like to get your hands on these rare collectors items, then order now before it's too late! Once they're gone, they're gone forever!!! Have you seen the new cast to the Gilligan's Island Movie? If not, go to the top of our page and click on the button to reveal the winners of the next box office hit! Is this for real??? (I don't think so) Another special thankx to Ginger, (our daily trivia manager), and the Skipper, (our Fan Club organizer). Without these two helping me out I would be forever stranded! Let's CHAT! The chat room will be open this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the times listed below: Pacific Time = 7:00pm Mountain Time = 8:00pm Central Time = 9:00pm Eastern Time = 10:00pm http://www.lookup.com/homepages/58181/chat.html I guess that's all for now. Off to clean the supply hut and get rid of all those feathers I was collecting for Mr. Howell.
