Ahoy There Matey! Welcome to the August edition of the "Gilligan's Island Fan Club." We have some goodies for you this month, so let's start it off with a re-run. If you missed it the first time, then set your VCR's 'cause here it comes again. E!TV's "True Hollywood Story" will air on Tues, Aug 8th at 09:00P, Wed Aug 9th at 10:00A and 04:00P and Sat Aug 12th at 04:00P. Check your local tv listing for times in your zone. Orville Redenbacker is back with the Howell's!!! With the help of Ed and Helynn, we are now able to see this wonderful popcorn genius in a commercial with Thurston and Lovey. Come see for yourself! http://www.gilligansisle.com/orville.html Helynn also tells us that she saw Jim Backus (Thurston) on an episode of "Ma & Pa Kettle Go To Town" for any of you 'Ma And Pa' fans. A lot of folks have been asking for 'more pictures' and here they are! A ton of pictures have been added to the site! http://www.gilligansisle.com/photos.html Our good friend and loyal fan club member Gary Q. has located Bob Denver on the Howard Stern show and we now have the audio clip for your listening pleasure. Unfortunately I could only use about 10% of the recording due to Howard's way with words, but it's still pretty good. For those of you who love Howard, check it out. For those who hate Howard, don't worry. I cut out all of the interesting stuff. ;-) Oh, and you must check out the new Hawaiin version of the Gilligan's Island theme song sent to us by Frank Hayes. I can picture a hip Don Hoe singing this with one of his groovy Hawaiin bands. http://www.gilligansisle.com/realaudio.html There's a new collectable out there from the "Character Car Collection" made by Matchbox! Gilligan is standing on the deck of the S.S. Minnow, and his big head is saluting us while he's holding a life raft. This is a must for all Gilligan collecter's, and it's cheap! I saw them at Toy's R Us for only $7.99 and at Target for $9.99. Go here for the picture, and happy hunting! http://www.gilligansisle.com/images/matchbox.jpg The CBS show "Survivor" is almost at it's end and probably will finish before our next newsletter. Want to know who won? Sources still tell me that it's the Professor, but Mary Ann was a close second. Oh....... you meant the REAL show? I don't know. Anyway, we now have a Survivor section on our page. There is something fishy about this show. You'll see what I mean when you go to: http://www.gilligansisle.com/survive.html Remember Pete Salisbury? You wouldn't unless you were with us in the old days of the "Original Gilligan's Island Fan Club." He was our Island Corespondant in charge of gathering info and conducting interviews with the stars. He's gone on to bigger and better things and now publishes a free newsletter called "The Skipper's Log." Just send him some stamps and he'll make sure that you get his latest interviews and goodies. What do you have to lose? Try it...... it just costs a couple of stamps. http://www.gilligansisle.com/skippers-log/ You keep on asking me when the Gilligan's Island Movie will arrive. Well, maybe never. BUT....... BOliver created a keen web site of the people who could play the castaways. The page is done quite well I must say. Check it out here: http://members.aol.com/BOliver330/GIMovie.html Alas! We have a Gilligan's Planet Theme sent to us by James A. Miletta. (I hope this isn't the New Adventures song instead). We are still missing the "New Adventures of Gilligan's Island theme, so if anybody has it, please let us know! Tired of complaining about not receiving the last third of your Columbia House video's? I know I am. Let's bombard them with more e-mails letting them know how dissappointed we are that they STILL haven't released the last 10 Gilligan's Island video's from the Columbia House collection! Even if you don't own the video's, please help us with this cause. Let's use this e-mail: customer_service@columbiahouse.com Well that's it for now. For some strange reason I just read the Skipper's mind! In fact, I read everybody's mind here on the island! The Skipper was thinking that he would like to clobber me, Ginger was thinking that she could trick me into building her a make-up room, Mary Ann thinks I'm sweet, Thurston wants me to caddy for him on my day off, Lovey wants to adopt me (again), and the Professor wishes I weren't so much of a pain in the butt. I hope this mind-reading stuff wears off soon. Oh well, I guess I'll just go butterfly hunting with Mary Ann!
