Ahoy Maties! Welcome to the May edition of the Gilligan's Island Fan Club. To start it off, we are switching all of our memberships to Listbot, which means in order for you to receive updates, sightings, and upcoming television specials you will have to sign up again. Don't worry, we made it real easy to rejoin the fan club. We have almost 600 members already signed up at Listbot, and we have 1900 to go. Since this is such a large number, we will send you a reminder notice once a week for the next month, just to make sure that you didn't forget to sign up again. We realize that this is an inconvenience, but our hands are tied. Currently, we receive so many e-mail failures, that it is very time consuming to look up and delete e-mails manually. Listbot does this automatically. Here's all you have to do: 2) Once you hit Join, then enter a password (anything will do) 3) Then go to form (there is only 1 question, you're age to help us with the content) then hit join list. That's it!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK, enough of this, now off to the good stuff! Get your VCR's ready once again!!! If so, go to this page and load a Gilligan car for your game: http://members.xoom.com/jetsfan1/gilligan.htm ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- And now some words from our fans!!! Jemery B. and Scott D. saw Gilligan on the Family Feud!!! Here's what they wrote: A few days ago, I just happen to be flipping through TV, when I came across the GameShow Network. They were showing an old episode of 80's Family Feud. And it was a special celebrity edition. On one side was the cast of the old Batman TV show, Adam West, the guy who played Robin, the Catwoman, etc... They were playing against the Gilligan's Island cast. Everyone was there! Gilligan, the Skipper, Mr. and Mrs Howell, Mary Ann, and the movie star. Well, the Gilligan cast beat the Batman cast and made it to the showdown. Dawn Wells and the Professor played in the showdown. Dawn scored about 101 points, but it was the Professor who put them over the top. They scored well over the needed 200 points to win. Don't know if anyone else caught this but I think Dawn Wells and Bob Denver were at the NCAA Tourney's East Regional a couple Sunday's ago (March 19). ESPN showed them on the highlights of the Seton Hall-Temple game. Patrick Just thought you & the other members would like to know that there is an Australian Racehorse racing at the moment in Australia called "Gilligan". Strange or what? Take care & keep up the good work. Ken D. Michael Hepner was in Hot Springs this past week and ate brunch at "Gilligan's Cafe" on Lake Hamilton. Just a mile or so south of Hot Springs Arkansas. Although this page isn't done yet, you can see the menu's here: http://www.gilligansisle.com/austin.html Jim Cowardin writes, Dear Gilligan, The most amazing thing happened to me today as I was watching TV today. I was channel surfing and stopped on TNN just as an episode of the Real McCoys was ending at 3:30p. I realized how much I enjoyed watching it some time ago, and saw they would have another at 4p. It was a cute episode where they have their cousin from West Virginia come and keep house for the family--Cousin Tilda. I looked at the whole show, and while they were rolling the credits, I saw that Cousin Tilda was played by none other than Tina Louise. Coincidence or what?? She did a great job. From Debbie I remember Tina Louise played J.R. Ewings (Larry Hagman) first secretary in the Dallas show. And Alan Hale Jr also appeared on an Andy Griffith episode. He played a man from the hills (can't remember his name) that came to town to get a wife. He picked Thelma Lou. He also kept calling Barney his "Little Buddy". Thanks for your loyalty. Without you, how will we ever leave this dreary little island? "Smooth Sailing" Willy Gilligan Gilligan's Island Fan Club http://www.gilligansisle.com
