While caddying for Mr. Howell, Gilligan falls into a big hole which turns out to be a gold mine. Thurston tells Gilligan not to tell the others as it would make everybody greedy. The others find out anyway, and they all dig for gold. When the Skipper fixed the raft, they all went aboard sneaking their gold with them. The weight was too much and it sunk and destroyed the raft.
